So this post is long over due! I just wanted to do a quick update on my hair and all it’s curly glory.
I haven’t been able to do the protective styles like I want, so I just been wearing the usual wash n’ go. I am still incorporating some flat twists and rolls, because I get tired of wearing it the same all the time. Just playing around one day, I discovered that by flat twisting the back of my hair up in two big chunks, starting from the bottom up, is cute and gives me options. I like this particular style because it gives the illusion that my hair is short in the back, when in reality, it’s just twisted up and secured with clips.
I have bc’d (big chopped) about three times during my journey. My last bc was August 9th, 2011…
So that means my anniversary is coming up less than a month away!
This was taken 8-20-11.
What a difference a year makes…
I probably won’t do another ‘length check’ post until November. Hopefully before then I can get in some protective styles, so I won’t have to manipulate this hair too much. Plus, detangling this hair is time consuming and it’s something I’d rather not do. Not to mention I hate the shedding! There are some days I think about cutting it all off again. Then I suddenly snap out of it…and remember my goal: Long, lush, healthy hair!
Patience girl patience! :0)
Peace & Blessings,

Your big chop pics are so cute! You've had a lot of growth this year too!! Congrats!
Thank you Tia! 😀
I literally LOVE your TWA! You definitely have the right attitude. Patience is key. Also, I'm almost two years natural and I have moments where I miss my TWA. Enjoy the short hair while it lasts. 🙂
Thank you FabEllis. I'm trying to stick to my guns, especially now since it's soooo hot!
Nice! How many inches has your hair grown since August 2011?
Your hair is sooo pretty! I can only imagine what it will look like when you reach your goal! Good luck!
Thanks ladies! @fashiondujour daily, I haven't measured it…I never measure the growth! lol
You look very nice with your bc. You have some pretty hair. I wish you all the best on your natural hair journey.
Thanks a bunch Nique. It is truly a journey!
